Disregard for Time, Space, and Reality

The first thing that strikes me about Hubert Robert's paintings is his complete disregard for conventional assumptions about time, space, and reality. Next is the way he uses that disregard to convey social and political commentary.

Robert's paintings have captivated me in more than one period in which a rapid expansion of my artistic exploration outpaced my ability to create a visual composition representing it.
