Unexpected Places

Unexpected Places

Mushroom in Baltimore City with The Broom Factory Building in the Background

In summer of 2016 I lay on my stomach on Boston Street in Baltimore City, taking a photo of a mushroom growing near the sidewalk. This exploration of the sparse nature outside my office building led me to a new body of artistic work a year later.

Nature is everywhere, even in the most unexpected places. Likewise, ideas spring to life from seemingly unrelated things, and unremarkable moments sprout miracles you never dreamed of. You learn not to question the process.
